Nur is going to Singapore tomorrow for better treatment.

Desk Report:

On the advice of a doctor, President of the People’s Rights Council Nurul Haque Nur is going to Singapore for better treatment. Abu Hanif, a member of the party’s higher council, said that he will leave for Singapore tomorrow, Monday morning.

Abu Hanif told Ajker Patrika that Nurul Haque Nur is going to Singapore tomorrow for better treatment. Despite his reluctance, he is being sent abroad as per the doctor’s advice and the decision of his family and party. He prayed for a speedy recovery from the countrymen.

Abu Hanif said, “We thank the government for the steps it has taken for better treatment, albeit belatedly. However, at the same time, we express concern that even after 24 days of the attack, there has been no visible progress in taking punitive action against those involved in the incident. We strongly demand that the government quickly bring those involved in such barbaric attacks to justice.”

On the evening of August 29, leaders and activists of the two parties clashed while a procession of the People’s Rights Council was passing in front of the Jatiya Party’s central office in Kakrail in the capital. Then, in front of the People’s Rights Council office, army and police members beat the party’s leaders and activists with sticks. Nurul Haque was seriously injured in the beating. He suffered a head injury and a broken nose.

Since that day, the People’s Rights Council leader has been receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
